Amealco Yoga Retreat

The local site for this project in Queretaro, Mexico had soil perfect for rammed earth construction. Farnum Studio had wanted to experiment with this building method and found a client enthusiastic about it also. The project was originally conceived as a yoga and Tae Kwon Do retreat, with simple dormitories, residences and dining hall for teachers and students. The Yoga studio and teachers residences were the first to be built. The materials are rammed earth, steel, glass and concrete.
